Deadlines per college will vary (check your college portals).
Federal Deadline : June 30, 2018
NOTE:
-Unlike prior years, FAFSA 2017-18 registration opens on October 1, 2016 this year.
-Usually, colleges require FAFSA by March 2nd.
-1-2 hours to complete.
What you'll need :

Your Social Security number
-
Your Alien Registration Number (if you aren’t a U.S. citizen)

Your 2015 federal income tax returns, W-2s and other records of money earned (Note: If you’re eligible, you can transfer your federal tax return information into your FAFSA using the IRS Data Retrieval Tool.)

Bank statements and records of your investments (if applicable)

Records of your untaxed income (if applicable)

An FSA ID to sign electronically (If you don’t already have one, create one at the Federal Student Aid website.
Recommendations:
- FAFSA can get confusing, therefore having someone with experience is recommended (counselors/teacher).
- Getting FAFSA done ahead of time will give you more time to work on supplements.
-IF SCHOOLS DO NOT FULLY MEET YOUR FINANCIAL NEED DO NOT BE AFRAID TO FILE AN APPEAL LETTER OR CONTACT THE SCHOOL DIRECTLY. (They will give you more money!)
